According to Western Digital, the new AI Data Cycle framework is designed to impact the performance, scalability, and deployment of AI applications. Rob Soderbery, the company's executive vice president, emphasized that storage plays a vital role in an AI-focused world, dubbing data as the fuel for AI technologies.

The key highlight is the 64TB SSD, part of the Ultrastar DC SN655 enterprise-class range, which offers increased performance for larger AI data lakes and meets the demands of data preparation and processing in AI environments.

Enhancing AI Performance with Enterprise-Class PCIe SSDs

Western Digital also unveiled the Ultrastar DC SN861, an enterprise-class PCIe Gen 5.0 SSD, which boasts up to 3 times the random read performance over its predecessors. With capacities up to 16TB, this SSD is perfect for machine learning model training and AI service deployment, with volume shipments expected in late 2024.

Breaking Boundaries: The Industry's Highest-Capacity HDD

For those who require even more storage, Western Digital is sampling a 32TB ePMR UltraSMR HDD, the highest-capacity hard disk drive in the industry, tailored for hyperscale cloud and enterprise data centers.
