Space-lovers and digital nomads rejoice! SpaceX has unveiled a brand new portable addition to their Starlink satellite internet service – the Starlink Mini dish. This compact and travel-friendly dish is easy to pack in a backpack, ensuring that you stay connected no matter where you roam.

Customers interested in the Starlink Mini will have to spend $599 upfront for the kit, which is $100 more than the standard dish. Existing Starlink users can add the Mini Roam service to their current plan for an additional $30 per month.

While the price may seem steep, SpaceX is committed to making the Starlink service more affordable in the future. They are currently offering a limited number of Mini kits in regions with high demand to gather feedback and improve the technology.

Elon Musk, the mastermind behind SpaceX, has praised the Mini on social media, calling it a "great low-cost option" that will eventually cost "about half the price of the standard dish to buy and monthly subscription." Musk also promises that despite its size, the Mini will still allow users to stream multiple 4k video streams with 23ms latency.

The Starlink Mini is not just smaller, but smarter as well. It comes with a built-in Wi-Fi router, thus eliminating the need for additional components. It's also energy efficient, has DC power input, and offers download speeds of over 100 Mbps. The kit includes a kickstand, a pipe adapter, a power supply, and a cord with a USB-C connector and a barrel jack.

As of now, the Starlink Mini is only available in selected high-demand areas. Yet, according to Michael Nicolls, VP of Starlink Engineering, SpaceX is ramping up production and plans to release the Mini in international markets soon.

Stay tuned for the global rollout of SpaceX's latest innovation that ensures you remain connected, even on the most remote adventures.
