More Control Over iPhone Charging Limits

Apple's upcoming software update, iOS 18, is set to introduce exciting new features for iPhone users. Among the new capabilities, you will now have more control over your iPhone's charginglimit. This means you can choose to set the charging limit at 85%, 90%, or 95% - in addition to the current 80% setting. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for the longevity of your iPhone's battery health.

Improved Battery Life and Performance

The new charging limit options will allow users to prolong their iPhone's battery life while still getting ample usage between charges. However, it's important to note that, as per the first developer beta of iOS 18, these enhancements seem to be accessible only to iPhone 15 owners for now.

Easily Identify Slow Charging

An additional feature in the iOS 18 is the ability to identify when your iPhone is charging slower than its maximum capacity. In the Battery settings, a "slow charger" message and orange bars on the recharge graph will alert you to when a less-than-maximum charging speed is in use. As of this stage in the beta, this feature appears to be available for all iPhone models, not just the newest ones.

The iOS 18 software update is packed with a myriad of features including advanced home screen customizations, texts via satellite, app locking with Face ID or Touch ID, and a significant AI upgrade for Siri. The developer beta is currently available, with a public beta set for release in July. The full roll-out of iOS 18 is expected this September, likely to coincide with the iPhone 16 launch.
