The popular Homey smart home hub has introduced a new feature called 'Moods' that allows users to control their smart home lights with ease. The feature was released today and is available for both the Free and Premium Homey service users as well as those with the Homey Pro (2023 model).

'Moods' enable users to create a customized ambience by selecting the lights they want to include and altering the color and brightness. Users can save their custom setup or choose from Homey’s preset Moods. This feature will also be available later this year for older Homey Pro hub users for a one-time purchase of €10.

The advantage of Homey's version of mood lighting control is that it allows users to sync up mood settings across different smart bulb brands with a single command. This means that instead of setting each bulb individually or using multiple voice commands, users can control all their smart lights with just one command through the Homey hub.

Homey also offers the option to create 'Flows' which can incorporate a wider array of devices. For example, a 'Movie Time' Mood could not only dim the lights but also close curtains and switch on the TV. This improved third-party hub control makes it easier for users to choose smart gadgets that best suit their needs without worrying about brand compatibility.

The introduction of 'Moods' is a significant improvement for Homey users and is a testament to the company's commitment to enhancing its services. It's indeed a big win for smart home enthusiasts looking for seamless control of their smart home devices.
