Google Pixel 9 Series Leaked: Features, Design, and Specs Revealed
The highly anticipated Google Pixel 9 series is just around the corner, with the launch date set for August 13, 2024. Despite the upcoming reveal, new leaks have provided a sneak peek into what we can expect from the new smartphone line.
Design and Color Options
The new Pixel 9 models are expected to sport polished metal sides paired with a matte rear panel, consistent with earlier reports. The lineup will come in four chic colors: Rose Pink, Obsidian, Porcelain, and Hazel.
Camera Capabilities
In terms of photography, the standard Pixel 9 is rumored to feature a 50MP wide camera and a 48MP ultrawide snapper. The Pixel 9 Pro and XL variants will include those two lenses, with the addition of a 48MP telephoto sensor. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is expected to have a triple-lens setup with slightly lower resolutions and different configurations for the selfie cameras across the different models.
Hardware and Performance
All models are anticipated to run on the Tensor G4 chipset, with the standard Pixel 9 boasting 12GB of RAM, and the other variants offering up to 16GB RAM. Whether this will translate to a notable performance increase over the previous Pixel 8 series is still up for debate, with some sources hinting at a modest 15% improvement.
Display Enhancements
Google is presumed to have improved the display resolutions slightly better than the Pixel 8 series. The new Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are expected to have a 6.3-inch display, the Pixel 9 Pro XL a 6.8-inch display, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will feature a 6.3-inch front display and an 8-inch Super Actua Flex display when unfolded.
Exclusive Features
The upcoming series will see the return of Circle to Search and buyers will receive a year-long subscription to Gemini Advanced. Two additional features, Emergency SOS and Pixel Screenshots, aim to enhance user safety and image information retention, although details are currently scarce.
