Most Breached Countries Revealed

The United States, China, and Russia top the list of the most breached countries this year, with the US alone suffering 3 billion account leaks since 2004. Per resident, Russia leads with an average of 16.8 million breached accounts.

Europe contributes to 30% of the global breaches, while North America accounts for 20%, and Asia follows closely with 15%. Notably, 28% of breaches are of undetermined origin.

Preventative Measures and Actions to Consider

Experts caution the public to stay alert as the majority of breaches involve shared email addresses across multiple accounts. The use of strong, unique passwords and exercising discretion when sharing personal information online is strongly advised.

Users should promptly change passwords, activate two-factor authentication, scan devices for malware, and be wary of suspicious communications if they suspect a breach. It's also crucial to contact banks if there's a potential financial information leak.
