AMD Ryzen 9000 Series CPUs Set to Launch Soon
The tech world is buzzing with excitement as major motherboard manufacturers have announced support for AMD's next-gen desktop CPUs, the Ryzen 9000 series. Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, ASRock, and Biostar have all released BIOS updates that lay the groundwork for the much-anticipated Zen 5 processors.
With two separate mentions of the Ryzen 9000 name in release notes, it seems all but confirmed that AMD's new chips built on the Zen 5 architecture will carry this moniker. This aligns with expectations, as the Ryzen 8000 name has already been used for existing APUs and mobile chips.
Zen 5 Architecture Imminent
The introduction of support by five motherboard makers, while still in beta for most, is a strong indication that the Ryzen 9000 series launch is approaching. Traditionally, manufacturers roll out such updates only when a product release is imminent.
Adding to the anticipation, Biostar's press release highlights that their BIOS update is "aimed at the imminent release" of AMD's next-generation CPUs. With such a strong statement, all signs suggest that the tech community could see the Ryzen 9000 debut sooner than anticipated.
While early rumors hinted at a possible launch this year, the current consensus points to a Q3 release, possibly in July. This could spell trouble for Intel, as they reportedly face challenges releasing their rival next-gen CPUs, Arrow Lake, before the end of the year.
As excitement grows, tech enthusiasts eagerly await official announcements, possibly at the upcoming Computex event in June.
